Form validation is a way to test the data a user enters in order to be sure it was entered correctly
There are 2 places to validate forms, client-side and server-side
Client side validation takes place in the browser and is done before the data is sent to the server
Server-side validation is done once the data has been received on the web server
If server-side validation does not pass, the form is sent back to the user along with a message on the page telling them what is wrong
We will be looking at new client-side validation features offered in HTML5
HTML5 offers new types of form field elements including email, phone, date, and many other new form field
The contact us form for Tranquil Travel will use HTML5 form fields
Dreamweaver CC supports HTML5 form validation which makes it easy to work with these new fields
