Absolute Positioning

  • We will be looking at CSS absolute positioning which offers fixed sizes for your elements
  • This is not a method that is used much anymore, but is important to be able to understand this positioning method, you may see this method used for HTML emails
  • Create a new HTML page and use that page to work with absolute positioning
  • Name the new page position-absolute.html
  • We will add absolute positioning and position content where we want it
  • Absolute positioning allows you to position content exactly where you want it within the web page
  • Height can become an issue using absolute positioning if you assign heights to your page elements
  • This lesson walks through adding div tags with IDs and positioning using the absolute method

Absolute Positioning
