Adding Content to the Page

  • We will set up the main content area of the page
  • Under the header on the page there is a series of <section> tags within the content area of the page
  • Delete each of the section areas of the page by clicking on the border and hitting the delete key
  • We will now add the text for the page
    1. Open the predefined.txt file from your site files
    2. This file will open in code view in Dreamweaver
    3. Choose ctrl/cmd-a to select all the content on the page
    4. Choose ctrl/cmd-c to copy all the text on this file
    5. Place your cursor after the first line of text and hit return/enter
    6. Paste the copied text from the text file
    7. Notice that this text contains tags, and they are now showing up to the user
    8. We need to paste this content into code view instead of design view
    9. Hit ctrl/cmd-z to undo the paste
    10. We need to add this into code view
    11. Select the word Instructions in Design View and move to Split View
    12. We will be pasting our code into the <p> tag area in Code View instead of Design View
    13. Delete the extra P tag by selecting the extra <p> tag in the tag selector, right click and Remove Tag
  • Click the design view button
  • You should see new text on the page
  • There is an extra paragraph tag at the bottom, remove that tag using the tag selector
  • Change the text at the top of the page from instructions to Travel Awaits You!

Adding Content to the Page

Lecture Slides are screen-captured images of important points in the lecture. Students can download and print out these lecture slide images to do practice problems as well as take notes while watching the lecture.
