In this course, our instructor Candyce Mairs discusses merging and splitting table cells. This lesson demonstrates two different methods for merging and splitting cells as well as navigating through the cells.
We are going to explore how to merge and split table cells
Create a new web page called table-play.html
Insert a new table 10 rows and 4 cols
Type the words cell 1, cell 2, cell 3 and cell 4 inside the cells in the top row
To merge table cells, select the table rows you want to merge
Click the merge icon in the properties area, or right click, choose table and you can merge cells
To split cells, place your cursor in the cell you want to split and hit the split icon in the Properties or right click, choose table and select split cells
You can see our table structure is now very different than our original table
