Text Field Elements

  • We are going to add a form to the contact-us.html page under the email information on the page
  • Open contact-us.html and hit enter/return to add some space after the words Personal Information from the fieldset/legend tags
    • You click icons in the Form tab in the Insert bar to add the various form field elements
    • Form fields are entered by Dreamweaver in the location of the cursor when you click the icon
    • We will add the name and email form fields within our form and learn how to work with text fields
  • Preview the form in the browser once the name field has been added and you can view the fieldset, legend and text fields and how they look within the browser
  • Add an email field to the form under the name field
  • Look at the code for the label which adds additional information for screen readers
  • The label tag matches up the text on the page with the form field on the page so someone who uses a screen reader can fill out the form properly
