Creating a Table

  • We will take a look at how to create a table using Dreamweaver
  • Tables are still the best way to display data and Dreamweaver makes it easy to work with tables
  • There are 2 different ways to create a table in Dreamweaver
  • You use either the insert menu or the insert bar to insert a table
  • The Common tab within the insert bar allows you to insert a table using the table icon
  • Once you have chosen this icon, you can set the properties for your table within the dialog box
  • Dreamweaver adds a non-breaking space inside each table cell so the cells do not completely collapse and you have space to place your cursor into a table cell
  • You can drag content around the web page in both Design and Code view within Dreamweaver
  • Once a table has been inserted, you can modify the table by selecting the table and changing the properties in the Properties panel
  • We will create a table on the specials.html page and move our specials into the table
