Creating the Content & Footer Areas

  • We will add the content area and the footer section to our web page
  • Add a div tag after the nav tag and assign the div an ID called content in this document only
  •  #content { width: 75%; background-color: rgb(255,247,223); margin-top: 0px, padding-bottom: 0; padding-left: 20px; padding-top: 5px; min-height: 500px; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto }
  • Add a selector for the footer tag since that is now available in HTML5
  •  footer { width: 75%; background-color:r gb(107,152,242); padding: 10px; ; }
  • Insert a footer tag on the page that will pick up our footer styles we already created
  • Change the margin for the footer tag to auto for the left and right margins which will center the footer tag
