IV. Matrices: Lecture 4 | 25:47 min
In this lecture you will learn everything about Determinants, beginning with What is a Determinant. Then, you will start slow with the Determinant of a 2x2 Matrix, Second Order Determinants, and discover the Difference from Matrices. Then, you will move into the Determinant of a 3x3 Matrix and look at Third Order Determinants, the Origin of the Equation (Minors), and Expansion by Minors.
QuickNotes™
Determinants
A determinant is a value associated with a square matrix.
Third-order determinants can be evaluated by expanding by minors along any row or column of the associated matrix.
These determinants can also be found by calculating products of entries along the diagonals and then adding and subtracting these products.
