College Ready High School # 11 Review

College Ready Academy HS # 11 is part of the network of Alliance College-Ready Public Schools. Alliance College-Ready Public Schools is the largest nonprofit charter organization in Los Angeles. This campus opened in 2010 and serves low income students in 9th through 12th grades. The school provides a challenging college preparatory standards based curriculum to ensure that all students have the opportunity to enter college or a university upon graduating high school.

The school offers small class size as well as individualized learning environments and plans. These plans are created by the student’s teachers, the student, and the parents. This way each student will be able to include their own input into their own learning style and curriculum to ensure their success. The Alliance College-Ready Public Schools student body is comprised of 87% are Latino and 13% are African American with 22% being English-Language Learners.

At this time, College Ready High School # 11 does not offer any extra curricular activities, sports, or student clubs.

Parents are happy with the results they are seeing. Their children want to go to school, which is something that many did not see until they enrolled them in College Ready High School #11. Students stated the teachers are very nice and treat them with respect. The school is safe and nurturing, which is an added bonus.

The Academic Performance Index showed academic growth from 6262 to 639. The California Standards Tests is used to learn if students are mastering core subjects. The various tests are given to 2nd through 11th grades in English, grades 2nd through 7th are given tests in math, and science tests are administered to students in grades 5th, 8th, and 10th, while history tests are given to students in 8th and 11th grades. The percentage of students passing the exams was below state average across all grade levels and courses.

the California High School Exit Exam tests 10th graders mastering skills in English language arts and mathematics. The percentage of students that passed the exit exam was 71% in English Language Arts and 72% in math.

The Alliance College-Ready Public Schools since their beginning in 2004 has seen 96% of their seniors graduate with 99% of entering college.

The school is working with students and the community to ensure students become productive members of society as well as life long learners. You should still visit the school to ensure the environment will fit your child’s own personal needs.
