Cielo Vista Charter School opened in 2010 to provide a different learning environment from traditional school settings for students in kindergarten through 6th grades. On average, the school has 753 students enrolled per year. The school is a part of the Palm Springs Unified School District. The school endeavors to create a learning environment that increased the unity between school, family and the community while enhancing the growth of students socially, intellectually and emotionally.

Cielo Vista Charter School also offers other activities for students to join including computer arts, chorus, physical education classes, academic contests, community service, science & technology, and yearbook.

Parents stated that teachers are great and that the entire staff has created a family environment. The majority of parents are impressed with the progressive learning the school is offering and the way students are given the attention they need. Students enjoy attending school and said they like their teachers. The only complaint from parents and students alike is the lack of sports.

The Academic Performance Index showed academic growth from 879 to 892. The California Standards Tests is used to learn if students are mastering core subjects. The various tests are given to 2nd through 11th grades in English, grades 2nd through 7th are given tests in math, and science tests are administered to students in grades 5th, 8th, and 10th, while history tests are given to students in 8th and 11th grades. The percentage of students passing the exams were above average across all courses except for 4th grade English Language Arts with 65% of students passing the exam while the state average was at 67%.

The school is providing a quality education for students. Parents and students are very happy with the school. It would still be a good idea to take a tour of the school to ensure it will fit your family before enrolling your child.
