Creating the Root Folder

  • Once the images have been set up, we will export the images into a single folder
This folder has a special name
  • It is called the root folder
  • It represents the folder that will store all of your website files once your site goes live on the internet
  • The root folder is the folder that will contain all web files for our web site
  • We will create a root folder called ScubaBlu on the hard drive, C: on Windows or whatever the hard drive is called on your Mac
  • Organize our files on your computer so that all the files you need for your website are stored in a single folder
  • This folder is an important folder that stores everything you need for your website
  • We need it all organized in one folder on our system because that is how it will be organized once it gets onto the web server on the internet
