### Continuous Probability Distribution

When finding probabilities with respect to continuous random variables, of interest is the probability that a continuous random variable takes on a value within a certain interval.

For a probability density function, the probability that the random variable assumes a value in any interval lies between 0 and 1.

The total probability of all the mutually exclusive intervals within which the continuous random variable can assume a value is 1.
