Why would onServer throw a 500 error? is there a setting somewhere w/in the CF admin panel that can be adjusted to fix this?

Adding ColdFusion Validation

  • Create a form validation page with this info
  • Client side vs server side
  • Client side options
  • DW behaviors – only validates text fields & text areas & not user friendly messages
  • CF creates – we will look at CFFORM tag in the CF form movie section
  • Write your own JS – must know JS
  • Server side options
  • CF – let CF do it
  • Write your own – use CF to create your own validations
  • Must think of every way the user can fill in the form
  • Add if statement to test for a value
  • Is defined & if
  • Instead of default value, send user back to the other page with an error url attached
  • Use url var in code, pop up red area with error message
  • Have form page if stmt, if the url var, pop up a message in red
  • Have pre-built, just explain the process & add url var going back to form tag
