In this lesson our instructor talks about Sibelius sounds, playback, and zooming. He discusses how to sound preferences and configuration. He talks about playback line, transport, live-tempo, live playback, interpretation, video, and the Sibelius mixer. Lastly, he lectures on zooming options and shortcuts.
Sibelius Sounds: Sibelius 7 comes loaded with sounds that we initially have installed from the content discs
Configuration: You can still change your sound set up after the score opened up by going to the Play tab and clicking on Configuration.
Playback: To playback your score, you can simply press the space bar or go to the transport group under the play tab and choose play.
Playback Line: There is a green line appearing and moving during the playback that indicates where the playback is taking place in the score.
Transport: There are a few other changes you could make under transport such as rewind, fast-forward or going to the beginning of the score/ going to the end of the score.
Live-Tempo: It gives you ability to tap a tempo or record.
Live Playback: Sibeliuss ability to playback the entire score.
Interpretation: When Sibelius plays note-head markings, slurs, dynamics & thrills will playback.
Video: When you use Sibelius to score music for picture.
One other way to playback: there is one other way to access to playback differently than transport functions is by letter P.
Sibelius Mixer: There are a few ways to turn on the mixer in Sibelius.
Zooming: You can zoom with your zoom slider in the bottom vertically and horizontally.

For learners who have an older version of Sibelius, this is the upgrade option from Avid. Note that the purchaser must have the serial number from their previous versions to register and use the update.
