Learning About The Slice Tool

  • The slice tool is one way you can create slices
  • We will use this tool to create some slices on our design
  • Draw a slice for the header image
  • Show the web layer in the layers panel
  • This shows you all the slices you have created on your design
  • Show how to turn slices on/off
  • Slices are given default names by Fireworks that lists an R & a C, that represents the row & column number within the design
  • ALWAYS rename your slices
  • These slice names become the image names on your web page
  • If you do not change the names it is very difficult to tell what each image is
