Steven, the say you've setup course curriculum, these should be the pre-requisites:
1. Take the Basic HTML and CSS courses offered here at AND both PHP courses offered to this date March 30, 2012.
2. Own a FULL copy of the latest version of Dreamweaver.
3. Own a FULL copy of Adobe Illustrator and/or Adobe Photoshop.
4. Own a FULL copy of Cartweaver, since that is what you're using for the course and not the free option Zen Cart.
5. Be ready to purchase a bunch of books for any and all doubts you may have about the course, since it takes instructors weeks if not months to get back to you with the answer to any questions.

Don't get me wrong, Steve, I've been learning and will finish the course to see what I can dig up that's useful; that doesn't mean this course should be one of the last recommended in taking, since it integrates programming languages like PHP required to know what's going on behind the scenes of an interface platform like Dreamweaver.

Also, it doesn't subtract from the fact you're using expensive commercial software many people, especially students, may not have.

No problem with using the software, just have it as a pre-requisite if that's what you'll be teaching. It makes no sense to tell people you're doing this and that if they can't mimic it at their end, because they don't have what you're using and will take the student a THOROUGH research to use suggested and other alternatives.

Adding E-Commerce Functionality

  • Cartweaver PHP is an Adobe Dreamweaver plug-in to give you the power to create an E-commerce website.
  • Installing Cartweaver files will attach to Adobe Dreamweaver toolbar that will be fully integrated into your website of choice.
