Voices College-Bound Language Academy opened in 2007 as a dual immersion charter school to serve students in kindergarten through 8th grades with a quality education based on California state standards as well as programs in the fine arts, music, field trips, and science enrichment. The college bound program known as Pathways is an excellent program that shows students the connection between what they are learning in school and their future career.
The opinions of parents were diverse with some parents stating that the staff, teachers, and principal are rude and do not communicate with parents. However, the majority of parents love the school stated that teachers were amazing, and their children love attending school. The school is safe, teachers are committed, and they have never had an issue with communication. Students only complained that they would like to see more activities added to the school.
The Academic Performance Index increased 20 points to 859. The statewide goal is 800. Parents were very pleased to see the increase and are proud of the teachers and students.
The California Standards Tests is used to learn if students are mastering core subjects. The various tests are given to 2nd through 11th grades in English, grades 2nd through 7th are given tests in math, and science tests are administered to students in grades 5th, 8th, and 10th, while history tests are given to students in 8th and 11th grades.
The percentage of students passing the exams was not available at the time of this writing.
The school is providing a wonderful opportunity for students to learn and grow in a caring and nurturing environment. If you have any concerns, it would be in your best interest to take a tour of the school.
