Valley Charter Elementary Review

Valley Charter Elementary opened in 2010 to serve students in kindergarten though 5th grades with hands-on, experience-based curriculum that focuses on the whole child. The school ensures the needs are met of a multi cultural diverse student body with personal attention that will help each student grow emotionally, academically, physically, and socially.

At this time, the school does not offer any extra curricular activities, student clubs, or sports, but does offer a variety of events throughout the year.

Parents expressed that they love the school. Teachers and staff are devoted and caring. Students are provided with hands on projects that make learning fun. Other parents were very glad to see so many parents involved in the school, giving it a more family atmosphere. Students love the school and their teachers and do not want to miss one day of school.

The Academic Performance Index declined 51 points to 872. The statewide goal is 800. Parents were a bit shocked at the drop but are still proud that the school API statewide rank is 10 out of 10.

The California Standards Tests is used to learn if students are mastering core subjects. The various tests are given to 2nd through 11th grades in English, grades 2nd through 7th are given tests in math, and science tests are administered to students in grades 5th, 8th, and 10th, while history tests are given to students in 8th and 11th grades.

The percentage of students passing the exams was not available in all grades but the ones that were available showed that the school was above state averages in all subjects.

The school is providing a wonderful opportunity to students to prepare for the remainder of their education years in a caring and loving learning environment. To learn if the school is a good fit for your child, you should take a tour.
