Stockton Collegiate International Secondary Review

Stockton Collegiate International Secondary opened in 2010 to provide students in 6th through 12th grades with an International Baccalaureate program that offers a college prep curriculum. The student centered program works with students on a personal level, which ensures that each student will succeed.

Along with core subjects, the school offers sports via different organizations as well as extracurricular activities including music, newspaper, leadership, intramurals, and yearbook.

Parents are very pleased with the college prep curriculum and the safe learning environment. Students would like the school to be able to provide sports that they can join along with other student clubs. Most students stated they would like to have the opportunity to participate in arts and other clubs.

The Academic Performance Index showed an increase of 1 point to 786. The statewide goal is 800. Parents are glad to see an increase but would like to see the score reach the statewide goal.

The California Standards Tests is used to learn if students are mastering core subjects. The various tests are given to 2nd through 11th grades in English, grades 2nd through 7th are given tests in math, and science tests are administered to students in grades 5th, 8th, and 10th, while history tests are given to students in 8th and 11th grades.

The percentage of students passing the exams was mixed. Examples include 56% of 6th graders passed the English exam with the state average at 59%, 41% of 7th graders passed the Algebra I exam with the state at 86%, and 56% of 8th graders passed the History exam with the state at 52%.

The California High School Exit Exam tests 10th graders mastering skills in English language arts and mathematics. 94% of students passed the English exam with the state at 83% and 97% passed the math exam with the state at 84%. Parents were very pleased with the results of these exams.

Overall, the school is doing an excellent job of providing students with a quality education. If you do have any concerns, it would be in your best interest to take a tour of the school and talk with other parents to ensure the learning environment is the perfect fit for your family.
