Sol Aureus College Preparatory (SAC) Review

Sol Aureus College Preparatory opened in 2003 to serve students in 5th through 8th grades with an alternative to traditional school. On average, the school has an enrollment of just under 200 students per year. The school offers extended day and Saturday school, which allows students to receive any additional help they may need.

At this time, Sol Aureus College Preparatory does not offer extra curricular activities, student clubs, or sports. Students and parents alike would like to see activities for the students to enjoy. Some students expressed they would like the opportunity to participate in sports like baseball and soccer while others stated they would like to see student clubs like government.

Parents stated the school is doing a wonderful job providing a quality education for students in a safe and small learning environment. Students are happy with the teachers and enjoy attending class, but most are not pleased without other activities.

The Academic Performance Index was not available at the time of this writing. The statewide goal is 800.

The California Standards Tests is used to learn if students are mastering core subjects. The various tests are given to 2nd through 11th grades in English, grades 2nd through 7th are given tests in math, and science tests are administered to students in grades 5th, 8th, and 10th, while history tests are given to students in 8th and 11th grades.

The percentage of students passing the exams was not available at the time.

With comments of parents, the school is providing students with a safe and caring learning environment. Since the exam scores were not available, it would be a good idea to talk with administration and learn more about the results prior to enrolling your child.
