Shiloh Charter School opened in 2010 to serve students in Kindergarten through 8th grades. The school provides small classrooms with an average enrollment of 140 students per year. The school offers a country feel with six classrooms and a close-knit learning environment.
The school does not offer extra curricular activities, student clubs, or sports at this time.
Parents expressed they like the small class sizes and the way the teachers are attentive to the needs of the students. Students stated they are not happy that the school does not offer sports or other activities outside the classroom. Many would like to participate in sports. Some parents expressed they would like more parents involved in the school.
The Academic Performance Index showed an increase of 37 points to a score of 831. The statewide goal is 800. Parents could not be happier with the score and know the teachers are providing the students with the educational tools need to succeed.
The California Standards Tests is used to learn if students are mastering core subjects. The various tests are given to 2nd through 11th grades in English, grades 2nd through 7th are given tests in math, and science tests are administered to students in grades 5th, 8th, and 10th, while history tests are given to students in 8th and 11th grades.
The percentage of students passing the exams was not available at the time of this writing.
The school is doing a wonderful job of providing students with an exceptional education as reported by parents. It would be a good idea to learn more about the test results and to learn if the school will be providing other activities in the future.
