Sartorette Charter Elementary School Review

Sartorette Charter Elementary School opened in 2002 for students in kindergarten through fifth grades. The school offers variety when it comes to the curriculum to ensure that each student has the opportunity to learn in a style that fits them personally. Along with core subjects, the school offers a wide array of extra curricular activities, programs, and sports, which include the Arts Vista and the GATE program. The school has a diverse student body population which includes 49% White, 28% Hispanic or Latino, 15% Asian, 2% African American, 2% Filipino, 1% American Indian, 1% Pacific Islander, and 1% unspecified.

Several parents stated that the school has high expectations for each student with caring teachers that work closely with students individually. The teachers are always planning field trips that blend education with a hands-on environment. Students love the school and their teachers. Many stated they do not want to miss one day of school. Parents are impressed with the safe and nurturing environment that is felt the moment you walk into the school.

The Academic Performance Index showed neither an increase nor decline, but stayed the same at 877. Parents are happy with the score and are glad that the teachers are keeping the school above the statewide goal.

The California Standards Tests is used to learn if students are mastering core subjects. The various tests are given to 2nd through 11th grades in English, grades 2nd through 7th are given tests in math, and science tests are administered to students in grades 5th, 8th, and 10th, while history tests are given to students in 8th and 11th grades.

The percentage of students passing the exams was above average across the board in all grade levels and all subjects. Parents are thrilled with the percentages.

The school is providing students with a caring, nurturing learning environment that will help them prepare for their remainder of their educational years and beyond. It would still be a great idea to visit the school to ensure the environment is one that will fit the needs of your family.
