Salmon Creek School Review

Salmon Creek School opened in 2007 to serve students in 3rd through 8th grades. The curriculum is based upon environmental sciences, the arts, technology, and a supportive community for each and every student to thrive.

The school curriculum is based on every student succeeding and developing a love for learning that will extend far beyond his or her elementary and middle school years.

Parents are very pleased with the teaching methods offered and the dedicated staff that goes above and beyond to ensure that success does happen. The school is very parent friendly however; some parents did state that they wished more parents were involved. The student body is diverse with small classes and plenty of extracurricular activities too which parents also raved about. Students stated they really like the school and all the activities, but would like to see more sports.

The Academic Performance Index showed an increase of 23 points from the previous year to a score of 890. The statewide goal is 800. Parents could not be more pleased with the score and were quite impressed with the increase as well. This showed that the teachers are working hard to produce awesome numbers.

The California Standards Tests is used to learn if students are mastering core subjects. The various tests are given to 2nd through 11th grades in English, grades 2nd through 7th are given tests in math, and science tests are administered to students in grades 5th, 8th, and 10th, while history tests are given to students in 8th and 11th grades.

The percentage of students passing the exams showed results that were mainly above average on the 3rd through 8th grade exams. A few test scores fell below alerting the school of where the improvements needed to be made.

With scores and percentages as seen above, you can rest assured that Salmon Creek School and its staff are working hard to make sure your child succeeds. You should still visit the school to ensure the learning environment is one that will help your child succeed prior to enrollment.
