Premier Charter High School Review

Premier Charter High School opened in 20001 for students in the area that were having a difficult time with traditional school, whether they are behind in credits, considering dropping out of school, or have other issues that make it difficult to receive a quality education.

The school offers small class sizes that help students feel more at ease without the peer pressure often found in traditional school environments. The school works toward developing life long learners that can make decisions on their own, set goals, and are prepared to contribute to their communities.

Along with core subjects, the school provides a few extra curricular activities including dance, computer arts, basketball, football, cheerleading, physical education classes, volleyball, soccer, student council, yearbook, and newspaper.

Some parents really love the way in which their child can graduate early and even take community college courses while working toward graduating high school. All parents that gave their opinion stated that the school lacks discipline and many times teachers and administration will yell at students or disrespect students such as embarrassing them in front of the student body. The majority of parents are very happy with the teachers but feel like their hands are tied due to administration. The school is also lacking in art and music, which is a downside for some students and parents. As far as the curriculum, the school is quite good and students can excel which is the main reason most parents want their children to attend the school.

The AIMS percentages are very low when compared to state averages with only 3% of students passing science and 13% passing math. These are quite low percentages. It would be in your best interest to investigate the school, the curriculum, and the administration. There must be reasons that many parents are not happy with the school and that most students are not passing the exams.
