Pioneer Middle School Review

Pioneer Middle School opened in 1995 to provide families with an alternative to traditional schools. The school serves students in 6th through 8th grades. The school offers three forms of structured education including skills acquisition, transition, and application.

Along with core subjects, the school provides several events and other programs throughout the year. Sports offered include volleyball, cross-country, soccer, basketball, baseball, softball, and track & field. Most parents are very pleased with the athletics offered as well as the other events that allow their children to work in teams. Students really enjoy all the activities offered at Pioneer Middle School.

Students expressed that teachers make learning fun and interacting, which allows them to learn in a unique way. The majority of parents are very pleased with the entire school. The learning is fun and entertaining for the students, teachers really work with students to ensure they succeed, and all the activities are just an added bonus.

The Academic Performance Index showed an increase of 38 points from the previous year to a score of 875. The statewide goal is 800. Parents are pleased to see that the index is rising and is above the statewide goal.

The California Standards Tests is used to learn if students are mastering core subjects. The various tests are given to 2nd through 11th grades in English, grades 2nd through 7th are given tests in math, and science tests are administered to students in grades 5th, 8th, and 10th, while history tests are given to students in 8th and 11th grades.

The percentage of students passing the exams was above the state averages across the 6th, 7th and 8th grade exams. Parents are even more excited to see so many students above the state averages in all subjects.

The school is providing students with an exceptional education and quality teachers. If you have any concerns, you should take a tour to learn more about the learning environment.
