Pinnacle High School in Tempe is the first school opened by Pinnacle Education known at the time of its opening as Arizona Career Academy. The works closely with students that are considered challenged or at risk to ensure they can receive an education that will help them succeed in life. Pinnacle Education realized that many students were just not learning in traditional school settings and set out to create a unique learning environment that would provide students with a self-paced learning experience. The curriculum is computer based and can be attended online whether at the facility or wherever the student chooses.
Instructors are available at any time of the day or night for students via email, telephone, or online chat. For those attending the facility, students will be able to choose their own block scheduling in four-hour sessions. For students attending online they are allowed to log in at any time of the day or night but must log in for a specific amount of time per 24 hours.
Students that attend either school (online or at the facility) express that teachers are great, the curriculum is challenging, and that the rest of the students are friendly. Parents state that their children are doing much better and wanting to learn once they were enrolled in the school, as they do not feel the pressure often felt in traditional schools.
Even though the AIMS scores are quite a bit below the state average, one must remember the majority of the students are catching up on credits, were at risk of dropping out of school, or work and attend school at the same time. In order to know if the school is the best choice for your child you should talk with other parents or the administration.
