Pinnacle Education was founded in 1995 to establish schools in the area for students that were not graduating or were dropping out of traditional schools. The Pinnacle High School in Mesa opened in 1996 and has been working with students that are considered at risk or challenged youths to ensure they can graduate high school and archive their goals.

Even though you may believe the school is completely a virtual online school, this is not exactly true as the school does offer a facility for those that wish to attend a school. The curriculum and learning environment is computer based and all correspondence between students and teachers is via online chat, email or telephone. The best part of this type of school is that students can work at their own pace and receive the help they need without feeling the pressure to stay up with the class or become bored waiting for the rest of the class to catch up.

Even though the school does not offer extra curricular activities, it does provide students with online instructors, support groups, life skills classes, and individualized learning plans. Students can choose to attend the school with block scheduling or attend online at any time.

Students participated in the AIMS series of exams and were just a bit below average in reading, with science, writing, and math being quite a bit below average. However, parents expressed that they love the school that is providing their children with a second chance, the opportunity to catch up on credits and to become life long learners. If you have questions regarding the curriculum or the test scores, you should speak with administration. With the low test scores, students may need more attention or the curriculum may not be geared toward passing the AIMS exams.
