Pinnacle Charter High School in Casa Grande is part of Pinnacle Education. Pinnacle Education began in 1995 to provide an alternative to students that were not doing well in a traditional learning environment. The school offers both virtual learning and campus courses with all instruction computer based. The environment is self-paced with instructors available via live chat, email, and telephone. Students have no worries about peer groups or less attentive teachers than needed as all students choose the times they will attend school and will have instructors available at any time of the day or night.
The school does not offer extra curricular activities but does have a personalized lesson plans, life skill classes, and support groups. For those that wish to attend the facility the classes are broken up into blocks with students choosing which 4-hour block they would like to attend. Students that are enrolled to full time classes have a virtual guidance counselor to ensure they reach their goals.
The school aids students that are behind in credits, are at risk of dropping out or not graduating.
Parents expressed that the school has improved over the last few years when a new principal was hired. The school may have had a few issues in the beginning; however, today students are doing much better and are working hard at graduating.
The percentage of students that passed the AIMS series of tests should not deter you from the school. Even though the majority of the courses were below average, students that put forth an effort are doing quite well and the administration is working with students closely to ensure their success. Parents should learn more about the curriculum especially math since no student passed the AIMS math exam.
