Payson Center for Success Review

Payson Center for Success opened in 1996 for students in 7th through 12th grades. The school opened to provide students with instructors that work with students on a more individualized setting to ensure their success as well as prepare them for the challenges found in today’s world.

The school offers a blend of educational programs, which include home based education, virtual online program, and instructional opportunities that include an open lab and credit recovery. The opportunities at the school were designed to ensure that all students can achieve their goals of graduating high school through various means that often help students that do not do well in traditional school settings. The school also offers sports, music programs, and academic clubs for students that wish to participate on campus.

Parents are very pleased with the progress they have seen with their children once they were enrolled in Payson Center for Success. The teachers and staff are caring and help students ensure they have the credit needed to graduate as well as the life skills necessary to get a job after graduation or attend college. The most positive comment was that student’s can work at their own pace which is great as they do not feel pushed or feel like they are being left behind. All parents and students alike had nothing but positive remarks about the school, staff, and teachers.

When it comes to the percentage of students that passed the AIMS series of exams in tenth grade the scores are not perfect but for students that were lacking credits or had fallen behind in learning the percentages are not that bad in most courses. In reading, the percentage of students that passed the exam was only 7% below the state average, in science and writing it was 20% below average, and in math more than 40% below average.

It would be best to learn more about the curriculum and why students are not passing the state required exams in order to graduate high school. You should check out other schools in the area as well to ensure you are choosing the best quality education for your child.
