Partnerships for Student-Centered Learning Review

Partnerships for Student-Centered Learning opened in 2010 to serve students in grades Kindergarten through 12th. The school focuses on individualized, personalized learning for each student. The teachers are dedicated in the success of their students and their individual talents and strengths.

Along with core subjects, the school offers parents flexibility in their curriculum choices. There are even home school opportunities, which offer more freedom for the family. The teachers are very innovative in their teaching styles which parents love. Students complained that the school does not offer any extra curricular activities or sports. In the upper grades, especially high school, students are very disappointed that they cannot be involved in sports like soccer, cheerleading, and football.

Parents are thrilled with the curriculum at Partnerships for Student-Centered Learning. The teachers were said to be the best in the area and this was by both parents and students alike. Another thing parents liked was that the education provided fit their individual situation. That is why the school is so successful.

The Academic Performance Index showed an increase of 24 points from the previous year to a score of 798. The statewide goal is 800. Parents are pleased that the number has increased and are happy that the teachers and staff are working to raise that number.

The California Standards Tests is used to learn if students are mastering core subjects. The various tests are given to 2nd through 11th grades in English, grades 2nd through 7th are given tests in math, and science tests are administered to students in grades 5th, 8th, and 10th, while history tests are given to students in 8th and 11th grades.

The percentage of students passing the exams was both above the state averages and below across the 2nd through 11th grade exams.

California uses the California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE) to test high school students’ skills in English language arts and mathematics. The students at Partnerships for Student-Centered Learning surpassed the state averages on both exams.

The school is providing students with an excellent education with a dedicated teaching staff. If you would like more information schedule a tour today and meet with the teachers.
