Paradise Honors High School Review

Paradise Honors High School opened their charter school in Surprise in 2008 for students in 9th through 10th grade. The school works with helping students develop character as well as provide students with the educational tools needed to reach their goals. The curriculum models used include virtual school, honors track, accelerated credit learning, and independent study. The school does offer community college course, college prep programs and trips to college campuses. Along with this the school provides extra curricular activities including drama, basketball, cheerleading, cross country, golf, soccer, volleyball, tennis, and yearbook.

Parents and students enjoy the school and state it feels like a small knit or family instead of a learning facility. The small class size, devoted teachers, and excellent learning environment are helping students excel. Students enjoy learning and going to school where they are treated fairly. One mentioned the school class sizes in not as small as some say but that school is still amazing.

Students at Paradise Honors High School participated in the AIMS series of tests. All 10th graders must pass the exam in order to graduate high school in the state of Arizona. The percentage of tenth graders that passed the reading exam was 91% with the state average at 80%, in science 60% with the state at 42%, in writing 91% with the state at 70%, and in math 71% with the state at 60%.

With these great test scores and the comments of parents, the school is doing a good job of providing students with the tools they need to achieve their goals. It would still be best to visit the school and learn if the school is a good fit for your family.
