Paradise Charter School Review

Paradise Charter School opened in 2006 to serve students in Kindergarten through 8th grades. The school provides a small sized setting for a more personal and individualized school environment.

Along with core subjects, the school offers sports and other extracurricular activities for its students. This includes volleyball as well as other sports. The school also focuses on academic events like spelling bees. Both parents and the students love this however they would like more choices for activities.

Parents are thrilled with the curriculum and how organized the school is when it comes to classrooms and events. The teachers were also listed as very compassionate as compared to larger schools where the kids sometimes are left behind because the classes are too large. The students love having spelling bees and like how attentive their teachers are when they need help.

The Academic Performance Index showed an increase of 27 points from the previous year to a score of 855. The statewide goal is 800. Parents are pleased with the number and the large increase over last year’s number.

The California Standards Tests is used to learn if students are mastering core subjects. The various tests are given to 2nd through 11th grades in English, grades 2nd through 7th are given tests in math, and science tests are administered to students in grades 5th, 8th, and 10th, while history tests are given to students in 8th and 11th grades.

The percentage of students passing the exams was both above and below the state averages across all the grade levels. For example 100% of 4th graders passed their Math exam with the state average at 71%.

The school is providing students with an education that they will carry with them through high school and on to college. If you would like more information schedule a tour, meet the teachers and learn more about the impressive test scores that Paradise Charter School has to offer.
