Omega Northern Campus – Oasis High School Review

Oasis High School is a charter school under the administration of Omega Northern Campus, which opened in 1999 for students in 9th through 12th grades with an average enrollment of 58 students. The school offers a learning environment where students can succeed and achieve their goals with teachers that want to ensure students reach their full potential.

The goals of the Omega McDowell Campus are to provide students with a learning environment in which they feel at home in order to be prepared for the workforce or higher education upon graduation. The school works together with parents to provide a safe learning environment where students can succeed in life while meeting their goals. The school does not mention any extracurricular activities, sports, or student clubs.

The comments about the Oasis High School are very diverse with some parents very disappointed in the way in which the school is ran, the high turn over of teachers, and the fact that the school does not offer any type of extra curricular activities, sports, or clubs for the students. Many parents have removed their children since the school has not shown improvement since it was opened. One parent expressed that in the beginning, the disorganization was expected but after being opened for a few years there has not been any improvement and the school is very disorganized. Even parents that are pleased with the curriculum and the way their children are learning are not happy with the disorganization found with administration.

Students in the state of Arizona in order to graduate high school must pass the AIMS series of tests in 10th grade. Percentages of students that passed the exams in 10th grade in reading was above state average by 9%, 0% passed in science with the state average at 42%, in writing the percentage was almost 30% below state average, and in math only 25% passed the exam with the state average at 60%.

With such low percentages of students passing the exam, it would be in your best interest to learn more about the curriculum as well any information you can on the reasons so many students are not passing the exams.
