Natomas Pacific Pathways Prep Middle School Review

Natomas Pacific Pathways Prep Middle School opened in 2009 to serve students in grades 6th through 8th. This school operates on a small level to give more personalized and individualized learning. The curriculum is rigorous with a focus on college planning, analytical work and relationship building practices.

Among core subjects, students can also participate in a variety of sports including kickball, soccer, volleyball, basketball, flag football and speedball. Students expressed they like the sports offered but would like to see a few more activities in the way of computer arts, choir, and painting along with student clubs such as student government.

Compassionate is a word that may parents used to describe the teachers and staff at Natomas Pacific Pathways Prep Middle School. They go above and beyond to make sure every child reaches their fullest potential and succeeds. Some parents cited that missing a day in this school could result in rushed work, which is not fair to the child. Kids love going to school and love their teachers. The classes are longer than normal, which the kids do not necessarily like, but the work is getting done with great results. The longer school days as many parents stated is good for academics but they do need a few more other activities for students that are not interested in participating in sports.

The Academic Performance Index showed an increase in academic growth from 840 to 841. The statewide standard is a score of 800 pleasing parents.

The California Standards Tests is used to learn if students are mastering core subjects. The various tests are given to 2nd through 11th grades in English, grades 2nd through 7th are given tests in math, and science tests are administered to students in grades 5th, 8th, and 10th, while history tests are given to students in 8th and 11th grades.

When it comes to test results the 6th and 7th grade students passed both Math and English exams with scores above the state average. The 8th grade students fell below the average in both subjects.

Overall, Natomas Pacific Pathways Prep Middle School is preparing students for high school and beyond. However, to ensure your child will fit the learning environment it would be a good idea to talk with other parents and take a tour of the school.
