Magnolia Science Academy – 2 Valley opened in 2007 for students in 6th through 10th grades. The school has a curriculum with an emphasis on science, math, and technology. The school offers small size makes them ideal for personalized learning and individual focus.

Along with core subjects, the school offers band, computer arts, dance, drawing/painting, theater/drama, Russian, Spanish, academic contests, newspaper, student government, community service, yearbook, and science & technology. The sports offered are football, soccer, ultimate Frisbee, basketball, cheerleading, baseball, physical education classes, and volleyball.

Some parents feel that Magnolia Science Academy – 2 Valley is lacking in the teacher department as a few are not fluent in English. Other parents have nothing, but impressive things to say. They are happy with their child’s grades and the involvement of the teachers. Students like the curriculum and the attention they receive from teachers when needed.

The Academic Performance Index showed a decrease in academic growth from 761 to 746. The statewide goal is 800.

The California Standards Tests is used to learn if students are mastering core subjects. The various tests are given to 2nd through 11th grades in English, grades 2nd through 7th are given tests in math, and science tests are administered to students in grades 5th, 8th, and 10th, while history tests are given to students in 8th and 11th grades.

Test results for Magnolia Science Academy – 2 Valley showed highs and lows. This happened across all of the grade levels and the exam subjects.

The California High School Exit Exam tests 10th graders mastering skills in English language arts and mathematics. 100% of the 10th grade students passed the English exam with the state average at 8%. For the Math exam the students scored the same as 84% as the state average.
