Lou Dantzler Preparatory Elementary School opened in 2008 for students in grades Kindergarten through third. The school focuses on developing each student’s talents along with preparing even the youngest students for their future goals ad challenges for college.
Along with college prep and core subject classes students can participate in computer arts, chorus, dance, drawing/painting, Spanish, physical education classes, academic contests, newspaper, student council and yearbook.
Parents love the fact that the staff at Lou Dantzler Preparatory Elementary School is preparing students for college. Most parents have high regards for the principal was also a high point for parents. Students like their teachers but would like to see some sports like baseball available.
The Academic Performance Index showed an academic growth increase from 791 to 793. The state goal for California is 800.
The California Standards Tests is used to learn if students are mastering core subjects. The various tests are given to 2nd through 11th grades in English, grades 2nd through 7th are given tests in math, and science tests are administered to students in grades 5th, 8th, and 10th, while history tests are given to students in 8th and 11th grades.
The test results for students at Lou Dantzler Preparatory Elementary School are mixed. 6% of 2nd graders passed the Math exam with the state average at 64%. In 3rd grade, 57% passed with the state at 69%. In 4th grade, 63% passed against 71% making all 3 grades below state averages in that subject.
