Livermore Valley Charter Preparatory High Review

Livermore Valley Charter Preparatory High opened in 2010 to provide 9th graders with an alternative to traditional school settings that will help the transition into high school and beyond. The school offers a college preparatory curriculum and small class size.

Along with core subjects, the school offers extra curricular activities and student clubs for those that wish to participate. These include ambassador club, community service, drama, Hawk-Troniks, leadership class, math club, model united nations, music program, The Bird Call, The Hawk’s Eye, Spanish Club, and student council. Sports available include football, volleyball, soccer, cross-country, cheerleading, basketball, wrestling, baseball, softball, swimming, track & field, and golf.

Parents and students alike expressed the school is wonderful. The teachers, staff, and administration put students first and foremost which is completely different from what had been seen at other schools. Most students are doing very well and enjoying the curriculum as well as the other activities that are available.

The Academic Performance Index showed a slight decline in academic growth from 820 to 819. The statewide goal is 800.

The California Standards Tests is used to learn if students are mastering core subjects. The various tests are given to 2nd through 11th grades in English, grades 2nd through 7th are given tests in math, and science tests are administered to students in grades 5th, 8th, and 10th, while history tests are given to students in 8th and 11th grades. The percentage of students passing the exams fluctuated according to the subject. Examples include 65% of students passed the Algebra II exam with the state average at 69% and 82% passed the Biology exam with the state average at 60%.

Livermore Valley Charter Preparatory High is providing students with the educational tools and the nurturing environment that will help them succeed. If you have any concerns, it would be a good idea to take a tour.
