Little Rock Preparatory Academy is a charter school for students in kindergarten through 8th grades. The school opened as a charter school in August of 2011 while from 2009 until that time the school served students in middle school. The school uses a self paced curriculum that emphasis individuality but also utilizes small group research lessons, and whole class teacher developed activities.

The school offers students the opportunity to learn in a small caring and nurturing environment. The administration is working hard to provide a safe environment while offering advanced courses for all students. Little Rock Preparatory Academy is a member of the Exalt Education network, which is based in Central Arkansas. The school utilizes a research based academic design the helps students master skills and concepts while enriching their studies with electives. The main core of the curriculum is based on direct instruction programs in language, math, and reading. Along with core subjects, the school also offers a variety of electives, which change each semester. The electives include choir, photojournalism, visual arts, dance aerobics, leadership prep, drill team, physical education, Spanish, basketball, and keyboarding.

The majority of parents expressed they love the individualized lesson plan and the way the school ensures students are learning at the proper level. The school offers dedicated teachers that help students on a personal basis and are available for each student. Staff and administration are doing a great job of providing students with the educational tools needed to reach their goals and grow not only academically, but also mentally and socially as well.
