Leadership Public Schools – Richmond Review

Leadership Public Schools – Richmond opened in 2003 for students in grades 9th through 12th. The main focus is on college prep courses with a rigorous curriculum. This sets the school apart as they want each student to succeed in college after high school at a school they choose.
The teachers and staff strive for high expectations, leadership, strong parent and community involvement and results.

Along with core subjects, the Richmond campus offers extra curricular activities, sports, and student clubs including dance, photography, Spanish, soccer, basketball, softball, baseball, volleyball, newspaper, student council/government, community service and yearbook.

Parents love everything about Leadership Public Schools – Richmond from the quality of teachers to the principal’s leadership to their involvement as parents. The students state that the teachers are very motivating and they really do care about helping you prepare for college.

The Academic Performance Index showed an increase in academic growth from 753 to 800, which is the statewide goal for California schools.

The California Standards Tests is used to learn if students are mastering core subjects. The various tests are given to 2nd through 11th grades in English, grades 2nd through 7th are given tests in math, and science tests are administered to students in grades 5th, 8th, and 10th, while history tests are given to students in 8th and 11th grades.

The test results for students at Leadership Public Schools – Richmond showed a mix of highs and lows as compared to state averages across the board in different subjects and age groups. For example on the 10th grade Science exam 53% of the students passed which matched the state average.

The state of California uses the California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE) to test high school students’ skills in English language arts and mathematics. At Leadership Public Schools – Richmond the results were above the state averages in both subject exams.

At Richmond, they care about their students and are providing a quality education. Set up a tour today and see for yourself how much dedication there is.
