Ingenium Charter School Review

Ingenium Charter School opened in 2010 for grades Kindergarten though fifth. The curriculum is based upon traditional teachings, but with a clear direction of what is best for each student and their road to college. The school administration and staff believe ever child can be successful with individual needs met and challenged.

Along with the core subjects, students can choose from courses in theater/drama, Spanish, Mandarin, softball, physical education classes, newspaper, community service, yearbook, science and technology. The challenge is even extended to academic contests throughout the school year.

The reviews for Ingenium are straight across the board with A’s. Parents love the school! The teachers and staff are likable, smart, very caring and amazing at what they do. The college prep curriculum may seem too young to start, but parents love that a school is doing that. Students just love going to school each day.

The Academic Performance Index showed a slight decline in academic growth from 824 to 807. The state goal for California is 800.

The California Standards Tests is used to learn if students are mastering core subjects. The various tests are given to 2nd through 11th grades in English, grades 2nd through 7th are given tests in math, and science tests are administered to students in grades 5th, 8th, and 10th, while history tests are given to students in 8th and 11th grades.

The test results were mixed across the grade levels and subjects. For example, 71% of 5th graders passed the Science exam with the state average at 60%. In 4th grade, 50% of students passed the Math exam with the state at 71%.

The school is providing students with the educational tools needed to succeed. To learn more about the school and ensure the learning environment is perfect for your family, you should visit the school.
