Grizzly Challenge Charter School Review

Grizzly Challenge Charter School opened in 1998 for students in 10th through 12th grades. This school is helping a great cause by taking at-risk youth that want help with an education and life skills. Each student earns academic credits and focuses on not only educational successes, but life success as well.

Instruction in core subjects as well as study skills, living skills, coping skills and citizenship are all offered at Grizzly. They help with short-term goals as well as long-term goals. It is a residential environment paired with physical training as well as other activities. There is a career/placement center for help with future choices.

Grizzly Challenge gives students what they deserve and that is success. That is what the students like about the school. Even if the start has not been so great, that does not mean that, the end has to be the same. This school gives everything to the students so that they can succeed in life and education. Parents and students both are very pleased with the learning environment and the help they receive from teachers and staff.

The Academic Performance Index is not available at this time.

The California Standards Tests is used to learn if students are mastering core subjects. The various tests are given to 2nd through 11th grades in English, grades 2nd through 7th are given tests in math, and science tests are administered to students in grades 5th, 8th, and 10th, while history tests are given to students in 8th and 11th grades. Test results were not available.

Grizzly Challenge Charter School helps those that may have otherwise not received the help needed to graduate high school. Since the results of exams were not available, it would be a good idea to ask more questions regarding the number of students that are graduating from high school as well as more about the curriculum.
