Edge High School Sahuarita Campus Review

Edge High School Sahuarita Campus is a charter school operating at the Sahuarita Park via an agreement with the Pima County Parks and Recreation and the Sahuarita Unified School District. The school is not included in the Sahuarita school district but does work with the district to ensure the students are receiving the best quality education available. The school has been in operation for 10 years at this location and in 2006 expanded to include another classroom due to the interest of parents in the community enrolling their students in the school.

Edge High School at Sahuarita Campus provides students in 9th through 12th grades an alternative to public education with a more personal environment that focuses on basic courses, accelerated learning, and recover credits. The small class size aids in providing students with the help they need to succeed.

Students are very happy with the environment as well as the teachers and staff. Students expressed the school offers a close knit community where they not only find life long friends, but know the teachers and staff personally. The school does not provide deadlines, so to speak for homework, and allow students to work at their own pace. Teachers and staff are very motivated which is passed on to the students.

As with all public schools in Arizona, including public charter schools, 10th graders must pass or exceed the AIMS series of tests in order to graduate from high school. The percentages of students that passed or exceeded the exam at Edge High School Sahuarita Campus are listed below.

In reading, 80% of students passed or exceeded the exam, in science 20% in writing 70%, and in math 36%. The scores for science and math are below the state averages while reading and writing are above state averages. Before enrolling your student in the school, it would be in your best interest to ask questions regarding science and math scores as well as talk with other students and parents to learn more about the curriculum offered.
