Dunlap Leadership Academy opened in 2009 to provide a virtual education serving students in 9th through 12th grades. The entire curriculum and instruction is done via the internet. This allows students to do their schoolwork at their convenience at any time or place.

Along with the online curriculum, Dunlap Leadership Academy offers offline programs to enhance the learning experience including study trips such as Civil War study trip, Culinary arts career study trip, veterinary science study trip, Earth Science Lab, and SCICON.

Parents stated they are glad the school opened. Many stated that their children were having a hard time with traditional schools and were falling behind on credits. With the Dunlap Leadership Academy, students can even work and attend school at home. Students expressed they are enjoying going to school at home on their computers and going at their own pace.

The Academic Performance Index showed academic growth from 710 to 718.

The California Standards Tests is used to learn if students are mastering core subjects. The various tests are given to 2nd through 11th grades in English, grades 2nd through 7th are given tests in math, and science tests are administered to students in grades 5th, 8th, and 10th, while history tests are given to students in 8th and 11th grades.
The percentage of students passing the exams at Dunlap Leadership Academy was not available at the time of this writing.

The California Exit Exam is given to students in 10th grade to test their skills in math and English Language. The percentage of students passing the exams was not available.

Since the test scores and percentages of students, passing the exams it would be a good idea to talk with parents that have students enrolled and with administration to learn how students are doing academically before enrolling your child.
