Destiny Community School Review

Destiny Community School is a charter school that opened in 1999 in Gilbert. The school has an average enrollment of 129 students in kindergarten through 8th grades per year. Destiny Community School provides a quality education as an alternative to public education to urban and rural communities.

Within the curriculum used at the school the focus is on math, performing arts, science, and technology. Services to students are provided on an individual basis to ensure that every student can achieve their goals. The school also provides a full program for special education as well as mentoring.

The school offers a variety of facilities to their students including a playground, music room, library, computer lab, cafeteria, multi-purpose room, and has access to sports fields. Extracurricular activities offered at Destiny Community School include chorus, drama, design, drawing, drawing, photography, and painting. Student clubs available include art club, chess club, arts & crafts, dance club, cooking club, gardening, game club, study buddy club, student council, recycling club, technology club, student newspaper, yearbook, and woodshop.

Overall the reviews of parents with children attending the school are positive. Most parents are very happy with the achievements of their children and the one on one treatment the students receive from teachers. One parent did express their concern over bullying, however, negative reviews were during the time when the school was going through a transition of leadership and all seems to be much better. Parents are very active in the PSO and the community is very pleased with the achievements seen with the school including many special events.
