Deer Valley Academy Review opened in 2001 with an average enrollment of 175 students as a charter school for students in 9th through 12th grades. The school works with each student to ensure they achieve their goals and become productive members of society. The school provides a safe, nurturing environment that offers a technology environment that will help them with their goals for attending college or joining the workforce upon graduation.
The student body is comprised of 64% white, 23% Hispanic, 9% Black, and 4% unspecified which provides a multicultural environment. Students from all walks of life as well as students with special needs are given the attention they need to excel in all aspects of life.
The school offers a very unique schedule with students attending school Monday through Thursday. Along with core subjects electives available include humanities, physical education, art, and psychology. Students that need extra attention with language or math can partake of tutoring options to help them pass the AIMS exam. Test results were not published online for the school at this time.
The reviews of the school are excellent with all students being treated as equals and given the same opportunities to excel and graduate. Students were very pleased with the school and the opportunities they received to graduate even if he or she was behind in credits before attending the school.
