Cypress Charter High School Review

Cypress Charter High School opened in 2003 for students in high school to have an alternative to traditional school. The school offers small class sizes with only around 150 students enrolled per year. The curriculum is based on core subjects as well as independent studies.

Teachers work closely with students to ensure they are understanding each course and getting the most out of the educational tools and resources available.

Along with core subjects, Cypress Charter High School offers extra curricular activities including computer arts, ceramics, and band. Other programs include community service, yearbook, student council, and academic contests. The school does not offer any sports.

Most parents stated that teachers really bond with students and help them succeed. The school does an excellent job of providing students with a quality education and is preparing them for college. Students commented they really enjoy going to school and that their grades improved after they started attending Cypress Charter High School.

The Academic Performance Index showed the academic growth stated the same from the base score which is 756. The California Standards Tests is used to learn if students are mastering core subjects. The various tests are given to 2nd through 11th grades in English, grades 2nd through 7th are given tests in math, and science tests are administered to students in grades 5th, 8th, and 10th, while history tests are given to students in 8th and 11th grades. The percentage of students passing the exams at Cypress Charter High School was up and down being above and below average according to the grade level and the course. Examples include the percentage of students in 9th grade passing the English Language Arts exam was 77% while the state average was 57% and the percentage of 11th graders passing the Algebra II exam was 8% with the state average at 15%.

Overall, the school is providing a quality education and students are happy attending the school. Many are doing much better and becoming life long learners. To learn more about the school, you should visit the school and take a tour.
