Creekside Cooperative Charter School Review

Creekside Cooperative Charter School opened in 2009 for students in kindergarten though 8th grade with an average enrollment of 75 students per year. The school provides an alternative to traditional school with working with the whole child.

The teachers and staff strive to provide an excellent education that is individualized to ensure the success of every student. Along with core subjects, Creekside Cooperative Charter School offers physical education classes, science & technology, and yearbook.

Parents stated that the school provides an outstanding education for the students with dedicated teachers and staff. The small class size is a huge plus that helps students succeed. Students stated they enjoy music, art, and even physical education that are offered on a daily basis. The students love their teachers and enjoy attending school.

The Academic Performance Index showed a slight decline in growth from 951 to 947. The California Standards Tests is used to learn if students are mastering core subjects. The various tests are given to 2nd through 11th grades in English, grades 2nd through 7th are given tests in math, and science tests are administered to students in grades 5th, 8th, and 10th, while history tests are given to students in 8th and 11th grades. The only percentages available for the California Standards Tests were 2nd grade. The percentage of students passing the English Language Arts was 82% with the state average at 58% and math at 72% with the state average at 64%.

The Creekside Cooperative Charter School is doing a great job providing an alternative to traditional school with the majority of students doing better than when in traditional school. With the comments of parents and students, the school is great. It would still be a good idea to visit the school and take a tour before enrolling your child to ensure the learning environment is one that will help your child succeed.
