Community Magnet Charter School Review

Community Magnet Charter School opened in 2007 to offer an alternative to traditional schools with art, stimulating electives, and mentoring programs along with core subjects to ensure the needs are met for the whole child.

Along with core subjects, Community Magnet Charter School offers extra curricular activities including painting, drama, ceramics, dance, chorus, computer arts band, and orchestra. Sports available include physical education classes, football, cheerleading, basketball, baseball, golf, swimming, track, soccer, yoga, and volleyball. Other programs students can join are academic contests, community service, yearbook, newspaper, science & technology, and student government.

Parents are proud of the school that provides students with the educational tools needed to succeed as well as a diverse student body which helps them learn to live in a multicultural community. Teachers are very helpful and caring. Students love going to school and say their teachers are the best. Parents are involved and enjoy being part of the school community.

The Academic Performance Index showed academic growth from 930 to 963. The California Standards Tests is used to learn if students are mastering core subjects. The various tests are given to 2nd through 11th grades in English, grades 2nd through 7th are given tests in math, and science tests are administered to students in grades 5th, 8th, and 10th, while history tests are given to students in 8th and 11th grades. The percentage of students passing the exams was above average across the board in all grade levels and all subjects with most in the 80% and 90%.

The school is doing a wonderful job of providing students with a quality educational. To ensure the learning environment is a good fit for your family it would be a good idea to tour the school before enrolling your child.
