Children’s Success Academy opened in 2000 with an average enrollment of 96 students in kindergarten through 5th grades. The school uses a very unique approach to teaching in that they use a curriculum known as the Nurtured Mind, Virtues Project, Nurtured Heart Approach, and the Nurtured Body Program.

The school works with students that have challenges in learning to provide a quality education that caters to their needs. Students with behavior issues are the main makeup of the student body with the learning environment being one that provides a relaxed, positive, and nurturing atmosphere in which all students can excel. The program works toward teaching and assisting students to redirect their energies in social experiences and positive academic activities.

Parents are pleased with the curriculum and the teachers that provide a very unique approach to learning. The children are doing much better socially and academically in this environment than in the normal public school setting.

Students at Children’s Success Academy participated in the AIMS exam which measures the mastering ability of students in core subjects. The percentages of students that meet the standards of the exam along with state averages are listed below.

In reading, 30% of 3rd graders passed the exam with the state average at 76% and in math 0% with the state average at 68%.

In reading, 67% of 4th graders met the standards of the exam with the state average at 75%, in science 50% with the state average at 60%, and in math 58% with the state at 65%.

In reading, 69% of 5th graders passed the exam with the state average at 79%, in writing 31% with the state at 55%, and in math 54% with the state at 63%.
