Aspire Junior Collegiate Academy is a charter school that opened in Huntington Park in 2007 serving students in kindergarten through 6th grades with an alternative to traditional schools. The school offers one on one learning with small class size and caring teachers. Aspire Junior Collegiate Academy is part of the Aspire Public Schools. The group of schools is found across the United States and is one of the top performing schools serving low-income families.

Students that attend one of the Aspire Public Schools are introduced to a learning environment that is unlike traditional schools in that they can learn in a variety of ways and have the attention they need to succeed. the Aspire Public Schools offers a learning environment with College for Certain education focus. Today, the program has 12,000 at risk students in schools across America.

The Aspire Junior Collegiate Academy students uses the same teaching methods found at all Aspire Schools including inquire, project based instruction, distributed practice, massed practice, explicit instruction, apprenticeship, and problem solving. Along with core subjects, the school offers physical education classes.

Most parents agree this is a great school offering students exactly what they need. The school offers a caring, nurturing, and safe environment. Teachers and staff listen to students and parents with all concerns and work on a daily basis to improve any problems. Students are enjoying attending school and making new friends and even like doing homework.

The percentage of students that passed the California Standards Tests was above average in most cases with only a few scores being below average. The school did not show any growth in the academic index over the previous year.

The school is providing students with the tools needed to succeed as well as providing a safe and nurturing environment. It would still be a good idea to visit the school to make sure it is a good fit for your family before enrollment.
